Thomas A. Carlson

With over 35 years of experience in managing complex Navy, Joint, and multi-national issues, Tom is the resident expert on training, modeling and simulation. His expertise extends as well to team building, resource management, and international relations.

From serving in the Navy as a Commanding Officer to leading as Director of the National Strategic Gaming Center, he has established a reputation as a qualified leader, dedicated to his craft and the pursuit of excellence.

Since his career began with the Navy in 1970, he served in mid-level and senior level Navy management positions.  Tom served as Commanding Officer of numerous afloat and shore commands.

In 1994, he moved on to serving as Staff for COMUSNAVCENT / COMFIFTHFLEET, before moving on to his final duty station as Commander of Mine Warfare Squadron (Forward) Three in Manama, Bahrain from 1996-2001. Recently, he has been the Market Development manager for the Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Technical Services Sector.

He has a Master of Science in Strategic Resource Policy from the National Defense University, and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the University of Utah.
